Intro: PADI Scuba Review in Koh Tao

Been a long time since your last dives? Ease yourself back into diving with our half day PADI Scuba Review.

During the refresher you’ll pair up with one of Simple Life’s Divemasters to review important scuba diving principles and procedures, and practice your diving skills in shallow water. This will bring your diving knowledge and skills back up to date.

Plus we’ll get to make a proper dive exploring one of Koh Tao’s coral reefs, during which we’ll get your buoyancy back under control.

PADI Refresher Dive: Schedule

For the PADI Scuba Review usually we’ll meet mid-morning at the dive shop.

You’ll meet the Divemaster who’ll be running your session, and start out by reviewing some safe diving practices to refresh your knowledge. Topics will include equipment configuration, safe ascents and descents, underwater signals, dive planning, buddy procedures and potential hazards of the diving environment.

Next we’ll pack our dive gear and board Simple Life’s dive boat, heading out to one of Koh Tao’s shallow coral reefs. As we near the dive site you’ll perform pre-dive safety checks (remember the BWRAF?), before entering the water with a giant stride.

Beginning in shallow water you’ll then practice a range of scuba diving skills to get you re-familiarized using a scuba unit. Skills will include:

  • Mask and regulator clearing
  • Alternate air source use
  • Fin pivots and hovering
  • Communicating using underwater signals

Once the skills are complete and you are feeling confident we’ll embark on an exploration of the dive site. The dive gives us a chance to fine-tune your buoyancy and breathing control in a relaxed environment, plus enjoy checking out the corals and aquatic life.

Finally we’ll return to the dive shop early evening.

The PADI Scuba Review is a great way to ease yourself back into diving, and sets you up perfectly to join our daily fun diving tours around Koh Tao.
