For the serious experienced diver ready to commit fully to the technical diver training. The best course of action is usually enrollment on the PADI Tec Deep Diver Course; the end product is the same as a diver completing their PADI Tec 40, 45 and 50 level training. The diver is certified to make accelerated decompression dives to depths of up 50 meter using up to 2 decompression gases.
The course can be completed in as little as 8 days for a diver enrolling with all the required prerequisites. Though I would like to state the course is performance based and enrolment doesn’t guarantee certification. So I would recommend allotting yourself the full 12 days, as to minimize risk of disappointment. If time permits it is best to plan the course around our boat schedule, so you have chance to experience the various dive sites around Koh Tao.
The course is split into 3 Parts – Academic Session, Practical Application and Training Dives.
Material covered during the academic sessions are; Technical Diving Risks and Responsibilities, Equipment configurations, Team Diving, Techniques and Procedures, Emergency Procedures, Thinking like A Technical Diver, Decompression and Stage cylinder handling. Two mostly multiple choice exams must be completed at some stage.
Practical Applications include subjects such as; Equipment Assembly, Dive Planning, Planning for Foreseeable Problems and Advanced Dive Planning.
Training Dives include 9 skill development dives and 3 real life decompression dives, upon certification we will include a further 2 decompression dives for experience, free of charge.
