Under the expert guidance of instructor George, this afternoon Gwilym and Aaron embarked on their first underwater session of the PADI Open Water Diver Course.
The ocean is a little choppy this afternoon, but at Simple Life Divers we’re lucky enough have a shallow training pool, ideal for the guys’ first diving session; mastering using a scuba unit to breath underwater, learning to achieve neutral buoyancy (essentially weightlessness) to move around efficiently plus familiarising with underwater hand signals to communicate.
The guys are naturals and tomorrow we’ll be out on the Simple Life dive boat making our first proper underwater dives exploring coral reefs.
