Paulina (US), Toby (originally from the UK) & Aude (Canada) are going through their PADI Open Water Diver course here at Simple Life Divers. Running their dive course is instructor Lucas joined by MSDT candidate Juan and Divemaster Odei who’ll be making the instructor course next month.
Yesterday we started out with day 1 in the classroom, watching the first 2 modules of the PADI Open Water video. These cover topics including how increasing water pressure affects our body underwater, how scuba gear works and what to expect whilst scuba diving.
This morning it was time to get wet! For the first underwater session we headed to our swimming pool to take those first few underwater breaths and practice lots of skills to get familiar operating the scuba unit. Then tomorrow we’ll be out in the ocean exploring the coral reefs!
