PADI takes an all-inclusive stance on scuba diving. If people meet the prerequisites to join a dive course, we will train them.
Today our dive internships gang – Juanjo, Gio, Alex, Tom plus instructor Isabelle joined PADI Course Director Julian for an adaptive techniques workshop, learning how to adapt our teaching approach to accommodate divers with disabilities.
The session focuses appreciating individual requirements and exploring adaptive techniques to help students meet the performance requirements of PADI diving courses.
This involves briefing, demonstrating and having role playing student divers perform skills from the PADI Open Water Course, both at the surface and underwater.
Was a fascinating and insightful experience and everyone learned a vast amount. As PADI dive professionals its important that we always keep learning and advancing and improving our own approach to diving.
